ACES National Tournament

London Colney Colts U12 and U13's were delighted to be invited to the prestigious Pitchero ACES National Tournament, held in Nottingham over the weekend 17th and 18th June 2017. The teams were chosen to represent St Albans and District.

DAY 1 - U13's
Well done u13's - what a day ! In absolutely blazing heat at the Aces National finals the u13's won their group with 3 wins and a draw putting them through to the last 16 ! Through to the last sixteen, they faced Hull in their first knockout. They did extremely well and finished level at full time which meant penalties. The boys all kept their cool & went on to win the penalty shoot out. It was then Derby in the quarter finals. 0-0 at half time although we had chances. It looked like it might go to penalties again until Derby managed to score! We almost got it back level but sadly ran out of time.

A great day & great achievement by all. To get to the last 8 in a National Finals is fantastic.

DAY 2 - U12's
Day 2 at the Aces......... Another blisteringly hot day in Nottingham for day 2 of the Aces for the U12 tournament.... Sadly today wasn't the u12's day. They didn't lose but didn't win either, drawing 3 of their 4 games which sadly cost them points and meant they didn't progress beyond the group stages. The boys battled hard in hot conditions but today was just one of those days. There will be lessons learnt but a great experience for all and hopefully they'll be back next year to fight again. Let's not forget to even get to the Aces is a huge achievement as you really do need to be "up there" in your area to be invited.
