Success for the U7's Posted on 03/07/2017

The U7's took part in the Santos Cup in Northampton over the weekend and it was a very long day indeed! We played the best teams in and around the Midlands and London. We definitely stepped up to the occasion, the boys won all their group games, coming top by beating some very good teams (TFA, Santos panthers A ,CMKEA, Baginton, RB and Crofts). We played very well with high intensity and battling against very physical teams but our skill and ability showed.

In the quarter finals we played a very good Santos Panthers B, a very intense game coming away 3-2 winners we showed how good we really are as they are a very good side.

Semi finals vs a big and very, very physical West Brom All Stars, the boys handled themselves very well getting kicked and pushed all over the place but they kept going and came out 3-2 winners, it was a great little test but it took a lot out of them.

The Final vs Kewford Eagles, it was a great game, end to end football that was great to watch. We had loads of chances but the ball just didn't want to go in the net. The goalkeeper had an amazing game, Kewford had one chance and and took it we kept pushing missing one on ones and then they got that penalty so we lost 2-0.

The boys have played excellent today! amazing achievement coming runners up in a national tournament representing our great Little London Colney Colts I'm very proud of all the boys well done

We are a great club #WeAreColneyColts

U7s at the Bushey Rangers Tournament

by Dom Bond

This morning I took a team of boys to the Bushey Rangers Tournament which was made up of a few boys from the Red team and the new boys forming the Blue team... Considering they've never played together as a team this was always going to be a challenge... but these boys were fantastic, winning our 1st game 2-0 against TFA A then beating Bushey Rangers 2-0.

The boys looked like they'd been playing together all season. The boys put in a shift against Croxley Green but we just couldn't score, finishing 0-0 then losing to TFA A 2-0. The boys wanted to finish on a high in their last game and they did, winning 6-0 against Bushey Rangers and therefore finishing runners up.

The semi final was made up of the winners of groups 1,2,3 and the overall runner up from the groups and thanks to a strong finish we were in the semi final on goal difference well done boys. Our semi final was against SFA who we've played a few times and they are a fantastic team who finished runners up at Butlins so this was going to be a great test! The boys were brilliant again! Really stepping up their game, shutting out SFA and creating some great chances but we just couldn't find the net... So penalties awaited us after it finished 0-0.. Unfortunately we were finally knocked out, after some great penalties the SFA keeper saved one 😔

What a great squad of boys we've got in the blue team, they were all fantastic and I was so proud of them.

Well done Frank,Jack and Leo S from the Red team and Ethan, Rohan, Leo H, Tyler and Haydan who are all joining this year. #wearecolneycolts
