Colts U11's Retain the St Albans City Trophy Posted on 04/06/2017

Colney Colts U11 Reds and Blues competited in the the St Albans City 6 a-side Tournament today. Last year's U11's won the tournament and the current U11's were keen to hold onto the trophy.

Match Reports from Nick Jackson and Peter Lake

U11 Reds

St. Albans City Youth held their 6 a-side tournament today and the Under 11 Reds were going for silverware for the second week in a row. In the group stages of 5 minute each way matches the Reds beat Omonia Youth 2-0 (Sebastian, Max,) Panshanger FC 5-0 (Max 2, Antonio, Brad R, Omari), drew with St. Albans City Youth Victoria 0-0, beat AC Finchley Red 5-0 (Omari 2, Antonio, Alfie Nico, Brad S) and Whetstone Wanderers 2-0 (Brad S, Omari). The Quarter Final was the next challenge but we lost 1-0 to Whetstone Wanderers Lions. The U11 Blues deservedly went on to win the Final but I'll let Peter Lake soak up the glory of the Colts winning a second trophy in a week.

U11 Blues

U11 Blues were at the St Albans City Youth 6 a side tournament today and it was clear from the first game that the boys were up for the challenge⚽️ We cruised through the qualifying stages through great team play and quick passing. The quarter and semi finals were similar fayre with goals flying in. So the final beckoned against Berkhamsted Rangers which was a good game and this ended in our favour with a single goal from William! The days scorers were Rio (10), Jed (4), William (4), Sam (3), Samuel (2) and an own goal. Also credit to Alexei in goal for keeping a clean sheet on the day! A great team performance from a great team and bunch of boys and the Shield comes to London Colney Colts⚽️⚽️⚽️👍
