ACES National Finals 2019 - U13 WINNERS! Posted on 30/06/2019

So this just happened: 8 games against the best teams in the UK and the Under 13 Reds are the best team in the UK. Simply supreme Champions.

Today in Nottingham the Under 13 Reds sought to win the Aces Nationals Tournament and become the best Under 13 team in the UK. You can only enter this competition by invitation and be either your League Winner, Cup Winner or County Cup Winner, so the level of competition is top class. With teams from all over England and Wales, our boys were representing St. Albans and were drawn in their group stage with Bracknell Town Youth representing Bracknell and in the first game drew 0-0.

Next up was Rushall Olympic FC from Walsall and 2-0 it finished with penalties from Omari and Sam both being up ended in the box.

Next was Herald FC from Southport and a nasty tempered 0-0 draw. The final group stage match was against Belvedere Blacks from Burnley and 2-0 it finished with goals from Seb and Brad S.

We topped the group and met Santos Panthers from Northampton in the last 16. 2-0 it finished with Omari and Rio on target.

On to the Quarter Finals and we met Bessingby Park Rangers representing North West London. Another 2-0 win, both goals for Seb.

Onto the Semi-Final with games coming thick and fast the legs were aching and tired. Pontefract Sports & Social were the opposition and another 2-0 win with another 2 for Seb.

So after 7 hours of football the boys were playing Improtech Soccer from Durham to be crowned UK National Champions. Seb put us 1-0 up in the first half and then Omari was sent off! Half-Time came at 1-0 and the second half was played with 10 men against their 11. The boys went into over drive. 1 for Sam and 2 for Kameron with a lovely bullet header in there and 4-0 it finished.

When you consider that these boys had already won 6 trophies this season and smashed everyone out of sight to become UK National Champions sums them up perfectly. It's the end of an era with our 3 Arsenal Academy signings now officially gone and what a way to go, well and truly on a high. League Champions, League Cup Winners, Challenge Cup Winners, Hertfordshire County Cup Winners, PSA Tournament Winners, Italia Super Cup Winners and now UK Nationals Winners. Let that all sink in. WHAT a season.
